The day I decided to begin a blog:

I was nursing my son in one arm, my computer's keyboard balanced on my knees, typing in bowling scores with one hand for my local newspaper. I loved writing cover stories, sports, human interest...anything that would make a difference. But they laid off or forced early retirement on my editors. They cut freelance writers. And here I was, with a newborn, and bowling scores.
It just wasn't enough. So I quit. I put my energy into my son, my marriage, our business, and our farm.
